Charley's Story

🐾 Meet Charley! ❤️

Charley is a sweet 5-year-old boy who has been through more than any cat should ever have to endure. After surviving on his own with a severe wound, he was finally brought safely into rescue and received the medical care he desperately needed. Thankfully, Charley is now healing well. ❤️🐾

Now that he’s settled into foster care, we’re getting to see just how much love this boy has to give. It took him approximately 0.2 seconds to start making biscuits, climbing all over his foster, and demanding attention! 😂💕 He would probably spend 24/7 in someone’s lap if he could—he is the true definition of a Velcro cat. 🥰

Charley loves relaxing, enjoying snacks, making biscuits, and sitting in the window watching the world outside. He’s also becoming quite the little explorer! As he’s gotten more comfortable, Charley has started venturing out to explore more of the house, checking out new spaces and claiming his favorite cozy spots. He’s even showing off a bit of a sassy side—when one of his foster home’s resident cats curled up on the window perch, Charley decided he wanted that spot too and squeezed right in! 😂❤️

It’s wonderful to see how much his personality is coming out as he feels safer and more confident. He can still become frightened by loud noises like lawn mowers and trucks, but he’s becoming more comfortable and confident every day. Charley has also been around the resident cats in his foster home and has shown that he’s comfortable having them nearby. 🐱❤️

Charley recently saw a veterinary eye specialist, who determined that the abnormal appearance of his upper-right eyelid is the result of an old trauma that healed improperly. He will need a small procedure under light sedation to smooth the irregular eyelid margin and relieve the irritation. In the meantime, he has received medication to help keep him comfortable while we wait for the procedure to be scheduled. 💙🐾 And Charley has another little milestone to celebrate—he’s gotten his stitches out! ☀️🐾❤️

Charley is not quite ready for adoption yet, but we’re so happy to see this incredibly sweet boy finally feeling safe, loved, and comfortable. We’re excited to watch this handsome boy continue to heal and let his big personality shine! 🐾❤️
