His first years weren’t easy—he didn’t receive much human affection and lived a life lacking the love he deserved. But everything changed when he entered foster care. Cesar has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion who’s learning to trust and enjoy the warmth of human connection. <br/><br/>IDEAL HOME<br/>Cesar will thrive with a cat savvy, patient attentive family who's willing to continue telling him what a really good boy he is. The right home for Cesar will understand that his progress must happen on his timetable. Thinking he’ll be cuddly and confident on day one simply won’t be the case. He will likely spend his first week or two tucked away in a cozy hiding spot, like under a bed, while he observes his new surroundings. It’s important during this phase to try to reach out and rub his sweet face to let him know you’re not scary and are not going to hurt him. Cesar just needs a little coaxing in the right direction to encourage him to come out of his shell.  He is looking for a calm, loving home where he can continue to grow into the affectionate, loyal companion he’s becoming. If you’re ready to give this special boy the love he’s waited for so long , Cesar is ready to meet you!<br/><br/>PERSONALITY & HABITS<br/>Looking like a big, fluffy cloud, Cesar is easy-going and affectionate without being overly demanding. This quirky boy loves pets, but like many cats, he has boundaries. When he’s reached his limit, he may give a quick warning swat—not out of aggression, but instinct. With time, patience, and trust, this behavior is expected to fade as he continues to feel safe and secure. Cesar does like other cats and is more confident with a laid-back feline friend. He enjoys playtime and does occasionally gets the zoomies. His favorite toy seems to be spring toys. He also enjoys a tall cat tree for scratching on. Cesar would not do well with children or a busy household. He’s a thoughtful cat who takes his time deciding who will be his person. Once he’s comfortable, he’ll become a central part of the family—joining you for movie nights, asking for pets, and hanging out on the couch.<br/><br/><br/>CARE REQUIREMENTS<br/>*Feeding: Cesar eats a variety of wet and dry foods. He will lick any canned food clean!<br/>*Litter: Large, open-style box with unscented clumping litter (one box per cat, plus one extra). He will use a variety of litter options but is afraid of the litter robot.<br/>*Grooming: Cesar will allow gentle combing of his luxurious and cottony coat on his terms . He is currently growing out from a lion-cut for ease of transitioning into a new home.  Cesar stays incredibly clean and does not require regular eye cleaning like most Persians.<br/><br/>No declawing ever<br/><br/>TRANSITION TIPS<br/>Cesar needs a patient family who understands that settling in takes time—often up to 3 months. Start him in a basecamp room and introduce him to the home gradually. Research proper cat introductions, especially if you have other pets. Introductions and access to the home should be at a speed acceptable and safe for Cesar and other pets in the home. Patience and understanding are of the utmost importance!  He can be fearful with travel and vet visits.<br/><br/>VETTING PROVIDED<br/>Exam, neutered, dewormed, negative for FELV/FIV, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, cbc/chem,  full dental, and microchip. <br/><br/>LOCATION AND ADOPTION<br/>Fostered in Lake Station, Indiana (35 min from Chicago and SW Michigan, 2 hours from Wisconsin).<br/><br/>Adoption fee is $300.00<br/><br/>PurrHarmony, Inc. does not transport or ship cats. We welcome long-distance adopters.
