Cerulean Sea Mama: Zoe's Story

As a young mama of young kittens, Mama Zoe was both protective and nervous. She was such a good mama! Now that her kittens have grown to be more independent and she's feeling less protective, her personality is starting to really emerge. While she's still not sure of human contact besides head pets—she LOVES those—she's slowly coming to trust that she can hop up on a human's lap and make biscuits, and she's rediscovering that she herself is still mostly a kitten. She's starting to take part in play, wrestling with the babies (with just the right amount of aggression—she knows how much bigger she is) and chasing mousies when tossed by her foster mom.

The Cerulean Sea litter was named after characters from The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune, a cozy fantasy book that “feels like a warm hug.” And all of our Cerulean Sea kitties would love to get cozy with their own families, now that they're ready to be adopted! Each of the children in the book has impossible powers, and these kittens are no different—they have the strange and wonderful power to make their forever family fall in love with them! This litter was brought into animal control, supposedly found in a box on the road. To protect a nursing mom with her vulnerable neonatal kittens, they called us to continue the story anew. They have all thrived in foster care, joined in at story time at foster mom's bookshop, and are ready for a new chapter with loving forever families.

You can see more pictures and videos of our fosters on our facebook page: Sophia L'Orange Kitten Rescue

All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV, before they are adopted. They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet.

Sophia L'Orange Kitten Rescue's Adoption Policy
We require all potential adopters to complete an online form. Once received, we review in entirety. We then contact your vet and verify provided information. We will check references, and we contact your landlord, if you rent. Once we have completed the checks, we schedule a virtual visit interview so that we can get to know you and your family and so that you can visit with the kitty in an environment in which they feel safe to see how they may fit into your home and ask any questions of their foster. If everything checks out and we all agree on which cat the adopter is interested in, we set an adoption date based on the cat's status. On or just before adoption da, we send out our contract and medical records to the adopter. We ask that payment is either via Paypal, check, or cash.
