CECILIA - BEAUTIFUL SWEET KITTY RESCUED FROM SHELTER's Story
Cecelia was rescued from a local kill shelter where she had been brought in as a "stray - public drop off." She was (and is) very friendly and social so most likely she did at some point have a home, but she was not vetted and had no microchip so no clue what her story might be. A good guess is taken in as a cute, probably free kitten, but when time to vet her and she went into heat, tossed outside. Whatever the case, she is now fully vetted and ready for a new home that will keep her safely inside. This is what the shelter staff said about Cecilia and what was written on her cage card: "Such a sweet gentle girl. Adores attention, head and chin scratches. Very friendly." Cecilia is FIV+ (read information below), but can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats without an issue. She has lived with other cats in her foster home and gotten along great. She LOVES kittens and acts like she is mother to all of them. Although unknown as to how she would do with a dog, with slow and proper introductions, there is a high probability she would be just fine. She is chill and easygoing and young so chances are she would be okay with dogs, just as she is cats. If interested in meeting this beautiful sweet kitty, go to furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and submit an application. You will be contacted within 24 hours (if not, please check your spam folder). Thank you!

NOTE: Cecelia is FIV+, but don't let that scare you. FIV is feline immunodeficiency virus. Cats can live long, healthy lives with FIV. FIV is primarily transmitted to other cats via bites (must be transmitted through blood) and is not transferred via litterboxes or food bowls. The virus only lives outside the cat for 2-3 hours so it is not contagious to other cats in non-aggressive households. Actually, many people own FIV+ cats and do not even know they carry this virus. It is asymptomatic and unless a blood test is performed, there is no way of knowing if a cat has it. FIV is ABSOLUTELY NOT transmittable to humans or dogs. The latest studies show that FIV cats live just as long as non-FIV cats. Cecelia is young and healthy and expected to have a normal lifespan.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ON MAY 22ND. Cecelia is listed and taking applications now, but will be ready to go home after her final booster on May 22nd.
