Cecil (Available w/ bonded brother, Cooper)'s Story
Hi there!

We're Cecil and Cooper — and we're hoping to find our forever home together. 🐾

We're two bonded brothers who came to the shelter a few months ago along with our brother Cedric (who has since found his wonderful forever home — way to go, Cedric!). When we first arrived, we weren't too sure about people or this whole shelter life. But a lot has changed since then.

These days, you'll find us curled up together napping, wrestling during a good play session, or lounging side by side in a sunny spot. We've become each other's best friends, and honestly, we're a package deal — we'd love to be adopted together as the bonded pair we are.

A little about each of us:

I'm Cecil, and like my brother, I was pretty shy when I first got here. But I've come a long way! I now happily accept gentle pets from the volunteers I've gotten to know, and I even have a blast with string toys. I get along great with the other cats here in our free-roam room — friendly feline company just makes everything better.

I'm Cooper — a 10-month-old black-and-white tuxedo boy with a soft spirit and a whole lot of heart. I may not be the first to run up and greet a stranger, but give me a little time and patience, and you'll see my shy charm come out. I love a good string toy session and have learned that gentle pets from kind people are actually pretty great. I feel my most confident when my brother Cecil is nearby. If you’ve got those things and a gentle heart, I think we could be a perfect match.

What we're looking for:

We'd love a calm, quiet home with patient humans who understand that shy cats just need a little time to bloom. A cozy hiding spot, a sunny window, and a household without all the rambunctiousness would be our dream. We're both neutered, vaccinated, fully vetted, and perfect litter box users — zero drama there, we promise.

If you've been looking for two sweet, playful, gentle souls who will grow closer to you with every passing week, we might just be your guys. Come meet us — we think this could be the beginning of something really special. 💛

Some very important things you should know when applying:

Adoption fees for young adult and adult cats are $250 ($265 if microchipped).

What our adoption fees include:
Adult cats have received a wellness exam, fecal exams to test for intestinal parasites, treated for any known/existing conditions to bring them back to health, SNAP tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), and Heartworm. They have also received flea/tick preventative, have been spayed/neutered and are up to date on both their distemper and rabies vaccinations.

For all applicants:
Our volunteers do our very best to match an animal’s needs with that of the family’s needs and desires. In an effort to be transparent, please note that we just don’t know how our individual animals, many who have been through prior stress or trauma before arriving at our shelter, will react around young children who are still learning what it means to respect an animals’ boundaries. We are happy to have a beneficial discussion about safety between children and pets. Applicants and their family members arriving for meet and greets will be asked to sign a liability waiver upon arrival and prior to meeting our animals. Please also expect to have at least 2 visits as part of the adoption process at our shelter- one for the initial meet and greet, and one for the adoption appointment if a match is made. It’s important to us that we are properly matching animals to adopters, preparing our adopters for their special adoption day, and for a lifetime of happy pet ownership with your adopted pet.
Please double check your application for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting it to us. Please be as thorough as possible when answering application questions as the more you elaborate, the more information we have to consider, the more likely we are to have a full picture of the care, support, and love our cats/kittens will receive for their adopted lifetime and your particular application will be at the top of our mind when placing cats/kittens in their chosen forever homes.

You can complete an application at ARFCT.org and submit it to our email at arfct.adoptions@gmail.com for consideration. Thank you!
