Meet Catwoman! Looking for a young feline heroine to rescue your heart? Meet Catwoman, a beautiful calico girl who is ready to find her forever home! Catwoman came to us at the end of June through another rescue organization. While we don't know how this sweet young cat ended up in the shelter system, we're determined to make sure her next chapter is a happy one. At less than a year old, Catwoman has already had all the important first steps taken care of. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, so she's ready to head home with her new family. Catwoman is a calico, meaning she has a striking coat of three colors (typically white, black and orange). Calicos aren't a specific breed but rather a unique color pattern. One of the most fascinating facts about calico cats is that about 99.9% of them are female! This is because the genes responsible for their distinctive coloring are linked to the X chromosome, making male calicos exceptionally rare. Beyond her beautiful coat, Catwoman is just as lovely on the inside. She's friendly and enjoys spending time with people she trusts. Catwoman has overcome an uncertain beginning and is ready to trade shelter life for a home filled with love, comfort and plenty of sunny windows to lounge in. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. Adopting an animal is an important decision that will affect you, your household, and the animal for many years to come. Our primary goal is to place animals in a loving and forever home. We strive for the best possible match between you and your new pet. If you do not find the right animal on your first visit to our shelter, please return another day when new animals will be available for adoption. We include as much information as we know about an animal on their information card. We are here to help make a wonderful new addition to your family. Adoption Requirements • Must be 18 years of age or older (seniors 65 and over qualify for the Seniors for Seniors program) • Must have valid ID with current address • Must provide landlord’s name and phone number (or copy of current lease) • All members of the household should be present • You must understand that Berea Animal Rescue must approve your adoption application If this is your first visit, please follow this link, bit.ly/ARFWaiver, to provide us with your household’s information and sign our Animal Contact Waiver. Fees The shelter accepts cash or Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. *If paying in cash, please understand that volunteers are unable to make change.
