Cassian's Story
Cassian hasn’t figured out all of the secrets to being a cat, like controlling his limbs or keeping his tail out of the water bowl, but one thing he has figured out is how to play.

Cassian will let out multiple high-pitched meows to let you know he wants to play. Swing around a crinkly toy on a stick or leave some rattling mouse toys on the ground and Cassian will play until he falls asleep on the spot.

Get distracted and set down the toy on a stick? Cassian will pick it up and carry it to his favorite spot to play, inside of his tunnel. Wrestling a toy inside his tunnel gives him the added joy of using his tunnel to roll across the room. What Cassian doesn’t want me to tell you is that he may also jump out of the tunnel to try to scare you or his foster siblings.

Occasionally, Cassian plans ahead for his naps enough to find a cozy spot to lay down, like in his foster parent’s hamper or next to his foster brother on the couch.

Cassian tries very hard to give and receive affection, but he’s working on not sliding out of his foster parent’s lap long enough to get pets. When he does fall off a lap, couch, or cat tree, he wastes no time climbing back up again. He hasn’t figured out landing on his feet yet, but he stills recovers from falls with minimal embarrassment. Cassian was born May 15, 2026. He loves people, cats, dogs and would probably do well with cat friendly children.

If you live in Chicago and are interested in learning more about Cassian, please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com and Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com.
