Casey's Story

If you are looking for a quiet companion to sit next to you watching TV or working on your laptop, Casey is the cat for you. He is a gentle giant. His person took him in as a feral kitten and while he enjoyed the comforts of being inside, has always been painfully shy and will hide if given the opportunity when anything new happens. When his owner passed away unexpectedly, Casey, his brother and another feline housemate were left alone in the house with a stranger coming in to feed them for weeks. Unfortunately, the female housemate passed from lymphoma shortly after their owner died, so Casey was doubly grieving. He has had a lot of upheaval in his life over the last six months, going from the only home he had ever known, to a kennel and several fosters through no fault of his own. He is just learning to trust again. Casey requires a quiet house and a patient human to bring out his affectionate side. He dislikes being picked up, but even in his disapproval, is gentle in his protestations. When comfortable with a person he will give them head bonks and lots of purrs. He loves Churu and will respond to anyone who offers this treat. Please contact bowieclaw@gmail.com for an application if you think Casey is right for you. Bowie CLAW does not adopt outside of the MD/VA/DC metro area.
