Carson's Story

Meet Carson! This handsome older kitten was rescued from an extreme hoarding situation of well over 100 cats. Please see AVA’s Facebook page for more details. Despite his difficult start, Carson is blossoming in foster and is ready to find his forever home.

Carson’s vet records simply say, “brown tabby” but you must feel how soft his fur is for yourself! Carson allows himself to be touched while he is eating and also during the food preparation phase during which he enthusiastically purrs and rubs against his human’s legs, allowing head and full body pats. Carson has recently started to approach seated humans and will eat dry treats off of their laps. Food will be the way to win this boy’s heart. Carson has a few quirks: he makes a distinctive gnawing sound when eating, he snores and at times he walks around with the tip of his tail angling downwards!

Carson has just started to show an interest in small, toy mice. While still quite inhibited to play around people during the daytime, Carson plays actively with his female foster companions and he may in fact, be the emcee of the night-time entertainment! Ongoing socialization with humans will be required as sudden movements (like reaches) or noises (like sneezes) can send Carson fleeing to a hiding spot.

Carson must be adopted with or to another young, friendly cat who can teach him the ropes of pampered, indoor living!

Would you like to make Carson a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months and $250 for each cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
