Carmen Sandiego (tripod)'s Story

Carmen Sandiego certainly earned her famous name. For the first part of her life, this clever girl made a sewer drain her home, staying hidden from the world. During one heavy rainstorm, she was swept away by the rushing water-but somehow found her way back to the very same spot, proving just how resilient and determined she is.

Carmen is missing one of her legs, which made it impossible for her to climb out of the drain on her own. Thankfully, a team of dedicated volunteers never gave up on her, and after plenty of patience and compassion, they were finally able to bring her to safety.
Now, Carmen is discovering that life indoors has its perks. She's learning to enjoy gentle pets, the comforting routine of mealtime, and the unmistakable sound of a can of food being opened. Every day, she grows a little more confident.

Carmen is looking for a calm, quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace. She'll thrive with someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her bloom on her own schedule. In return, you'll get the privilege of watching an incredibly brave cat discover what it means to feel safe, loved, and finally home.

Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from behaviorists at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All cats available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email cats@henricohumane.org for more information.
