Caramelo's Story

Meet Caramelo, the 3-year-old, 10-pound little guy who's proving that good things really do come in small, soft packages. He's on the quieter side and still settling in, but don't let the shyness fool you. This boy has a whole lot of love to give once he feels safe and cozy.

He's already made a best friend in a cat named Kitty, and the two of them can often be found cuddled up together like the world's cutest nap duo. Caramelo is happiest when he has a feline buddy by his side, so a home with another cat would make him feel right at home from the start.
He's not the type to knock things off shelves or zoom through the house at 3am (okay, maybe occasionally). Caramelo is more of a slow-morning, sunny-spot, let's-just-be-together kind of cat. Low drama, low demands, maximum sweetness.

If you've got a peaceful home, a little patience, and maybe another cat to be his person, Caramelo is going to be one of the most rewarding companions you've ever had. He just needs someone willing to meet him where he is, and he'll take care of the rest.

Pet Orphans of Southern California's Adoption Policy
Potential adopters may visit our Pet Orphans facility during operating hours as many times as they need to spend time with a pet they are interested in adopting. Applications for a pet may be submitted in-person at the reception office or through our website. Applications for a pet will be accepted until the best home for the pet is found ( NOT on a first-come, first-serve basis). Potential adopters will be notified of their application status anytime from 2 days to 2 weeks. If an application is approved, then the adopter can come to our facility to finalize. During finalization, adopters can expect to stay for 30 to 45 minutes to go over paperwork, sign the adoption contract, and pay the adoption fee. Pet Orphans also provides the option of applying for a foster-to-adopt. Foster applications must go through the same approval process, but approved fosters are allowed to take a pet home for 10 days to get a better sense of how a pet will acclimate to a household and lifestyle. After 10 days, foster must decide whether or not to finalize adoption.
