What is Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control’s adoption process?

Choosing a pet is not easy - we have a large selection! Most of the animals available for adoption are hearty mixed breeds or "All American Shelter Pets" as we like to call them. However, purebreds are always available as well. Our adoption specialists will help match your lifestyle and needs with the dog or cat that suits you best. All animals are adopted to qualified applicants on a first-come-first-serve basis. Adoption fees: $60 for adult dogs $75 for puppies $50 for cats and kittens Residents 70 years and older, are offered a discount on adoption fees. All adopted animals will be spayed/neutered prior to going to their new home and will also receive their first round of vaccinations, de-worming, Frontline, heartworm test and preventative, rabies vaccination, county license tag, and a microchip.  All adoptions include a 7-day Health Care Certificate for follow-up care with a private veterinarian and a free
