Candy Corn's Story

Just in time for fall...

Meet Candy Corn!

Are you looking for the sort of companionship that's quiet, calm, and steadfast? The kind that means sharing your space with someone without being glued to each other at all times? The kind that means peacefully coexisting and just taking comfort in the fact that you both know the other is there?

Candy Corn might be your girl.

This sweet 1yo lady came to us with a number of other cats from an unhealthy situation. All of the cats were battling upper respiratory infections, none of them had seen a vet in years (if ever), and they had no idea what to expect from people. They weren't used to being touched or spoken to. They huddled in corners and hid their faces like if they tried hard enough, they could make the rest of the world disappear.

Candy Corn has come a long, long way. She's still a quiet, reserved lady. She won't be the first one to greet you in the community cat room. She prefers her quiet corners and cozy nooks. She seems to do best around other cats, so we would prefer that there be at least one other cat in the home...or she could go home with one of her friends! She wouldn't do well with dogs or small children.

But...

She's actually starting to play. She's been with us for about a month and a half and it's the first time any of us have seen her engage. She's the kind of girl that will accept pets and attention when she feels like, otherwise she'll just scurry away, but playing with a wand toy? That's a HUGE step for her and we're so proud at how far she's come!

If you have the space to share, the love to give, and the patience to help her feel safe, come meet Candy Corn.

To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com.
