But if she had to choose, Spiked Hot Chocolate is her ride or die companion.<br/><br/>Like most organizations, we do recommend adopting two kittens together unless a single will go home to be companions with another cat you already have.<br/><br/>It is best for kittens to be adopted in pairs- or go home with another cat. This helps avoid "Tarzan syndrome" where single kittens become difficult because they have no one to play with and bite them back.<br/><br/>This can become quite challenging to manage as they age- and is often a reason people desire to surrender cats later.<br/><br/>Alternatively, people who only desire one, usually end up wanting a second cat within a few months to a year- and it's always easier to start with cats that already know each other. Although it's certainly not impossible to match older cats together- or we'd have a sanctuary full of adults- when they already have a built in buddy to bite, scratch and wreak havoc with, it does make it easier to get two.
