Cameron's Story

Please read Cameron's story before applying:
Hi, I'm Cameron — and yes, I know I’m stunning. My foster mom tells me all the time. But I’ll be honest with you: I’m not a fan of being petted right now. I hope that by sharing my story, someone out there will understand me and love me just the way I am.
I used to live with 15 other cats. We were part of a big kitty family, but when our owner became ill and had to move into a nursing home, everything changed. Kind people made sure we had food and water, but we didn’t get much love or attention. Without regular human interaction, many of us became unsure of how to act around people.
The more outgoing cats were adopted quickly, but a few of us, like me, are still learning how to trust. I’ve made progress with my foster mom — she’s very patient and never pushes me. She believes there’s someone out there who can offer the same kind of understanding: someone who doesn’t mind if I’m not the cuddliest cat, who will let me go at my own pace.
I might come across as grumpy or even mean at first, but it's just fear — I hiss because I’m scared, not because I want to hurt anyone. Deep down, I’m just a shy girl trying to feel safe. I love sitting by the window, watching birds, and dreaming of catching one someday. I’ll never say no to squeeze-up treats or a good helping of wet food — and if a bit gets on your finger, I’ll gently clean it off.
I am curious about people… I just need more time and patience to figure things out. If you have a quiet home, a kind heart, and the ability to see beauty in the shy and misunderstood, I might be the perfect match for you.
