Camellia's Story

Camellia is a sweet and affectionate cat. She likes being around people and will come up for attention, give little head bumps, and start purring. She also loves climbing onto your chest and just laying there with you. She’s pretty calm but also has a curious streak. She’ll peek into rooms and explore a bit, then go back to loafing and relaxing. Sometimes she randomly gets the zoomies and runs around which is cute lol.

She’s gotten comfortable with multiple people in her foster house. She can be a little clingy in a good way and likes staying near you once she feels safe.

With other cats, she mostly just does her own thing and doesn’t really interact much, so she might do best as the only cat. Overall she’s just a calm, loving cat who likes attention and being close to people. She’s independent but still affectionate, so she’s a nice balance and not overwhelming. She would do best in a calm home where she can relax and feel safe.

Currently in foster care in Hawthorne. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.

All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

To begin the application process, please fill out our application here: https://form.jotform.com/212117959297062

We will try our best to be in touch within 24-48 hours.

Thank you!
____________________
Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.

We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.

We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.

When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.

If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community.
