Callie's Story
Meet Callie 🧡🤍🖤

Callie is a beautiful 10-year-old calico girl who has been through an incredible journey of love, loss, and second chances.

For many years, Callie was deeply loved by her owner — a woman who adored her companion wholeheartedly. Sadly, as dementia progressed, her owner could no longer remember that Callie was in the home or provide the care she needed. When her granddaughter brought Callie to the vet for a check-up, they discovered she was diabetic, and it became clear that her grandmother could no longer safely care for her medical needs.

When RPAW Rescue welcomed Callie into our organization, we made a promise to both Callie and her previous owner: that she would always be loved and cared for. To help ease the heartbreak of saying goodbye, we also made sure Callie’s owner received an electronic companion cat that responds to touch and sound, so she could still experience comfort and companionship without the responsibility of caring for a live animal.

Now it’s Callie’s turn for a new beginning.

Callie is truly a special girl. She is gentle, sweet, and looking for a quiet retirement home where she can finally settle in and be cherished again. She gets along wonderfully with other animals and would do best in a calm, peaceful environment.

Callie does have some medical needs. She is diabetic and currently managed on once-daily oral insulin, which averages about $75 per month. She is also on a canned kidney-support diet due to chronic kidney disease. Despite these diagnoses, Callie still has so much love left to give and deserves a family willing to give her the comfort and stability she deserves in her golden years.

Senior and medical needs cats are often overlooked, but Callie’s story reminds us just how important compassion and commitment can be. We promised her former owner we would do everything possible to take care of her — now we’re hoping someone special will help us keep that promise forever.

Could you be the loving forever home Callie has been waiting for? 🐾

Her adoption fee is waived
Adoption applications are available on rpaw.org
