Callie's Story

Meet Callie: The Soft-spoken Sweetheart Ready to Bloom

Callie came to Desert Paws Rescue with her sister Clio after limited early socialization, which left her timid and cautious around new people. But beneath that shy exterior is a *gentle, tenderhearted girl* who truly wants to trust - she just needs time and a patient human to show her the way.

Callie has made beautiful progress during her time with our volunteers. At the adoption center, she didn't venture far from her enclosure at first, but with consistent kindness, she began leaning into pets and eagerly chasing wand toys. She's learning that humans can be safe, predictable, and even fun.

Although she and Clio arrived together, they are *not bonded*, and Callie will actually thrive more fully *in a home without her sister*. Being separated allows her to build her own confidence instead of relying on Clio as her comfort zone. When she's on her own, Callie shows more independence, more curiosity, and more willingness to engage.

Callie would love a quiet, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. If you're someone who understands that trust is earned gently and slowly, Callie will reward you with the sweetest moments: soft purrs, cautious head nudges, and the joy of watching a shy cat discover she's finally safe.

Callie is spayed, microchipped, FVRCP vaccinated, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

!!! Desert Paws Rescue is a privately run, all-volunteer, non-profit organization and reserves the right to refuse any adoption that is not in the best interest of the cat or kitten, based on our principles, policies, and standards. Desert Paws Rescue will determine the best home for each cat or kitten based on the application and interview process. After review of the adoption consultation form and the completion of the interview with a Desert Paws representative, Desert Paws Rescue may recommend a different cat or kitten that is more suitable to your household.
