Meet Butters! Butters is a six month old Domestic Shorthair. This handsome young man is sweet as can be, and very handsome to boot! Butters is just a tad bit timid and reserved, though he does warm up quickly and is quite affectionate once he does. Butters has been around other cats before and did well with them, and we hope that he is young enough to effectively transition with almost any friendly animal that may reside in his next home. You are always welcome to bring your other pets for a meet 'n greet to ensure it's a great fit for everybody! Same goes for the kiddos, as this guy has not lived with or even been around any little ones before. We expect he would do well with respectful children, though we cannot say for certain at this point.<br/>Butters has a playful side, in addition to his cuddly nature. Despite his initial shyness, he truly has a great personality and is a very sensitive and gentle soul. Butters would like nothing more than to find a home and family where he is beyond cherished, and where he receives nothing but love and understanding. <br/>Disclosure time: Butters is not 100% with his litter box. He does use the litter box and would, in some sense, be considered litter box trained. (He does excellent with number two! Now and then though, he will tinkle outside the box, and we don't why.) Because he is prone to "accidents," he will need an owner completely and utterly committed to working with him on this issue. Do NOT apply for Butters if this is a deal breaker or if you're convinced you're the cat whisperer and can magically get him to stop. In other words, be prepared that this could potentially be a permanent behavior. Adjustments to the environment always help of course, as do many consumer products tailored to this problem. But since we cannot promise that any of the suggested routes will solve this and eliminate the potty issue in full, we ask that you not apply to adopt unless it's not a huge deal to you to clean up some urine here and there. We know full well that Butters is well worth the extra care and attention that he may require, and we just want to ensure that his next family is of this same mind set. <br/>Butters is also declawed. So on that note, he cannot under any circumstances be an outdoor or shop cat. We know, we know; that would be a fantastic solution to the potty prob, but since he is declawed, it's unfortunately not an option whatsoever. Do not even ask. Butters is deserving of an indoor home, and we won't stop advocating for him until he gets one!<br/>This little cutie is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. So he is officially up for adoption and eager to find the purrrfect family. If interested in Butters, call or stop by the shelter!!!
