Butterbean's Story

Butterbean is an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy who came to the shelter with five other cats after their loving owner could no longer care for them. Despite the big changes in his life, Butterbean has remained outgoing, loving, and eager to make new friends. If you don’t come over to pet him fast enough, don’t worry — he’ll happily stroll over and give you a gentle headbutt to remind you he’s ready for attention.

One of Butterbean’s favorite hobbies is lounging on top of an impressively tall bookcase. Exactly how he gets up there remains a mystery, but this fearless boy has no hesitation about leaping down the moment visitors arrive to say hello.

While new situations can make him a little skittish at first, Butterbean settles in quickly once he feels safe. He has previously lived with both cats and dogs and seems quite comfortable around them, though slow introductions are always recommended.

Butterbean is also FIV+, which simply means he’ll benefit from routine veterinary care and an indoor lifestyle to help him stay healthy and thriving for years to come.

Butterbean is still discovering the fun of toys. Right now, he prefers to watch with fascination rather than jump in himself, but we think his playful side will continue to blossom once he’s comfortable in a home of his own. He also has excellent litter box manners and knows exactly what he likes at mealtime — dry food is definitely his favorite, especially the extra tasty kinds!

If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who will happily shower you with affection, Butterbean may be the perfect match. Come meet this handsome boy today — you’re sure to fall in love.
