Buster's Story

Meet Buster!

Buster is a 10-year-old long-haired tabby who came into our care after being found outside with a microchip but no response from his registered owner. We’ve kept his original name, Buster Keaton, which he clearly recognizes and responds to.

Since joining the rescue, Buster has been fully vetted. His senior bloodwork and urinalysis came back overall healthy. He does have chronic kidney disease (CKD), currently in the early stages (stage 1–2), and requires a special kidney care diet, which he has been eating consistently. His kidney function is stable, and he is doing well on his current plan.

Buster also had an ultrasound due to a slightly distended belly, but results were reassuring. Our veterinarian believes this is likely due to age-related muscle loss rather than any underlying organ issue. He recently underwent dental surgery to remove his remaining teeth and is recovering very well.

In terms of personality, Buster is an incredibly loving and easygoing cat. He appears to have been used to a calm home environment and is happiest curled up in a lap. He gets along with other cats, enjoys both independent and interactive play, and maintains a playful spirit despite his age.

Buster is very food motivated and will eagerly remind you when it’s time to eat. While he isn’t particularly vocal, he shows his contentment through constant purring and a relaxed, affectionate demeanor.

Buster is a special senior looking for a quiet, loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by care and companionship.

He is fully vetted and ready to go home: Spayed/Neutered, Vaccinated for Rabies & FVRCP, Tested negative for FIV/FeLV, Microchipped, Flea and Parasite free.

If you are interested in meeting this sweetheart, submit an application in our website, and get to know them better by checking out our adoptions album https://www.findyourcatpanion.org/our-adoptables/adopt-a-cat

Purrfect Catpanion's Adoption Policy
We are very happy to help you find your next catpanion, please fill out our adoption application below to get started. The next step in the process will be a home visit or a video call, during which we will be looking to assess if the environment is safe to receive a cat. Some things we are looking for: - Windows in every room are secured to prevent the cats escaping. - Is the home ready to receive the kitty: litter box, food & water bowl areas, cat food available, etc. - Are there other pets that could potentially cause harm to the kitty? If other pets are present, they must all be fully vetted (Spayed/Neutered and Vaccinations up-to-date) This is not a 1-step process, we want to make sure the adoption is a purrfect match for everyone involved. All adoptions will incur an adoption fee: $200-$250 Your fee covers all vetting: Vaccinations, Deworming, Flea treatments, Neuter/Spaying, microchipping, etc.
