Burt (c2026)'s Story

Hi, I'm Burt.
I'm a brown and white tabby with a curious heart and a big love for adventure. If there's a corner to peek behind, a shelf to inspect, or a mysterious crinkly sound somewhere in the house, you can bet I'm already on the case. Exploring is kind of my thing.
I'm a friendly guy who likes being around people. I'll hop up next to you for some attention if you're sitting or lying down, and I love having company while I do my thing. I'm not shy about chatting a little either. Sometimes I talk because I'm excited, sometimes because I'm curious, and sometimes, maybe I just have important cat thoughts to share.
A few honest notes, I'm not really a lap cat, and I'd rather not be picked up, but I do love a good petting session, and I'm great with brushing too. I'm also an easy guy to read. I get excited fast, and when I've had enough I'll start thrashing my tail to let you know. I do best with a confident, cat-savvy adopter who understands play boundaries.
My last home wasn't quite the right fit for my active personality. I'm a smart, energetic cat who does best with lots of playtime, enrichment, and fun ways to keep my busy brain engaged. When I have outlets for my energy, I really shine. Give me toys, climbing spots, puzzles, a cardboard scratcher (my favorite!), and room to explore, and I'll be a very happy boy.
I'm playful, inquisitive, and full of personality. I may also do well with another cat friend who enjoys playtime and companionship. I'm not a snuggler, but I do love hanging out in the room with my people.
If you're looking for a clever, engaging companion who keeps life interesting (and maybe chat with you about it, from a respectful distance), I might be your guy.
