Bud's Story

Bud
Est DOB: 4.1.22
Sex: Male

Bud seems to have had a very difficult life before coming into foster care. When he first arrived, he had many scratches and scabs on his face and head, and two of his canine teeth were broken in half.

Thankfully, with love and care, his wounds have healed and his fur is becoming soft and healthy again.
Bud is still a shy boy, but he has already started making wonderful progress. He now comes out to spend time near his foster mom and enjoys staying close by so he can get gentle head and chin scratches. Once he feels safe, he happily accepts affection and shows his calm, sweet nature.

Because of his past, Bud may need some extra time and patience to adjust to a new home and new people. He would do best with older children who can respect his space and let him settle in at his own pace. His previous foster also shared that he does well with both dogs and cats.
Bud is a gentle soul who deserves a quiet, loving home where he can continue to heal and learn that hes safe.

This cat is FIV+
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) can only be transferred to a negative cat via deep bite wounds where saliva and blood would mix, not through sharing food bowls, grooming, cuddling, or normal household interactions including play fighting. Most FIV-positive cats live long, happy, healthy normal lives and can safely coexist with other friendly cats when properly introduced. They do not require special care, their slight immune deficiency typically causes no concerns when in a stable indoor home with regular vet care and good quality food.

Unfortunately, there is still a lot of misinformation about FIV causing them to linger in shelters or be euthanized.
