BROWNIE's Story

Brownie is a graduate of our foster program. Here's what his foster home had to say about him: Brownie (a brown tabby) has been with me twice as a foster kitten, the first time with his brother Smoky. After Smoky was adopted Brownie became shy, and I offered to take him again for more socialization. This time he’s been with me for a week. Now that he is a big boy, I gave him a big boy name, Purrcival Brown (Purrcy or Brownie). He likes to be left alone to hide when he sleeps, probably because of his time on the street. When he is awake he loves to play by himself; his favorite toys are small, roll, and can be picked up in his mouth. He seems to want to be near me. When he comes to me for snuggles, which is frequently, he has a great purr. He eats well and uses the litter box, preferring unscented litter. He is a wonderful kitten, cute and sweet. I don’t think he will be a large cat when he is grown, but long-bodied. He is calm and quiet while riding in the car. Brownie is currently at HRAS and up for adoption. Please come visit him during adoption hours: Tuesday-Saturday from 1-4pm. For more information, please call us at 831-769-8850. Current Adoption Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 1PM-4PM 160 Hitchcock Rd, Salinas, CA 831-769-8850 Adoption information: Adoptions are first come first serve and if you currently own a dog, you are required to bring in for a dog to dog intro.
