BRNYRD FINN's Story
ADOPT A BARNYARD CAT! Finn is a super social barnyard cat! He does not enjoy solely living indoors or being overly handled - occasional pets and head boops are something he craves, but he is by no means a lap cat. Finn would love to be your indoor/outdoor barnyard mouser, and would really do wonderfully in a fully enclosed barn, garage, shop, or shed. If you want a working kitty with a friendly personality, Finn is the boy you've been searching for! Our Barn Cats are healthy, ear tipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and in need of a new job! All they ask for is daily food, water, veterinary care as needed, shelter in the space they protect, and a mission - they'll provide you with pest control in your barn, shed, or wherever you have a rodent problem! After you pick up your working cat, you will need to provide a safe place for them to acclimate to their new surroundings for 4 to 6 weeks before allowing access to the outdoors. This can be an escape-proof room, an enclosed barn or even an extra large dog crate set up with everything they need. While they are in their safe place, you will need to give them daily food and water plus a litter box and a place to hide. Once the confinement period is over, you can allow them access to the space they are going to protect. Continue to give them the food and water based on the routine that you have already established and be sure to provide them a safe place to hide in inclement weather. There is no adoption fee to adopt a working barnyard cat. Complete an adoption survey at https://cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey.
