Briar's Story

** In order to adopt a kitten from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitten and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You may need to bring the kitten back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery**

This little cutie is our friend, Briar. He has an estimated birthdate of 5/3/26, so he's just a few months old.

Briar may be young, but he's already had quite the adventure. Found as a little stray and then passed along to someone else who could not keep him, this adorable little guy is ready to trade uncertainty for something much better: a loving forever home where he can finally put down roots and just be a kitten.

And what a kitten he is!

Briar approaches life with one speed: FULL THROTTLE. If there is a toy to chase, a cat to wrestle, or a room to zoom through, he's on the case. This energetic little cutie believes every day should include at least three play sessions, several dramatic sprints through the house, and a healthy amount of mischief. He especially loves having feline friends to play with and seems to be happiest when he has an older, playful cat willing to entertain his endless supply of kitten energy. He would do equally well with a kitten in his age range too!

When he's not busy conducting important kitten business, Briar enjoys bird-watching from the window. In fact, if you gave him a cat tree in front of a nice window with a steady stream of birds outside, he might think he'd won the lottery. He could happily spend hours chattering at feathered visitors and keeping watch over his kingdom.

Briar is also a big fan of canned food and would love for that to continue in his forever home. Fun fact: cats don't naturally drink as much water as they should, so canned food can be an important part of keeping them hydrated and supporting urinary tract health. A kitty water fountain would be another item on Briar's wish list. Moving water? Endless entertainment and hydration? Sign him up!

This busy boy does best with plenty of enrichment, toys, and activity. Without enough fun things to do, he can get bored, and Briar firmly believes boredom is a problem that should never happen to any cat, ever.

Briar is looking for a home with a feline buddy, lots of playtime, and humans who appreciate his enthusiastic approach to life. If you're searching for a hilarious, affectionate, high-energy sidekick who will keep you laughing and your resident cats on their toes, Briar is ready to bring the party to your house.

Apply today and help this little adventurer finally find the stable, loving forever home he's been waiting for. Once you submit your application, once you're approved, we will call you and schedule a meet and greet!

West Jefferson, Ohio
#hsmcohio

A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
