Brady (FIV+)'s Story

***Sharonville location*** Brady is our resident comedian! He makes us laugh and brings us so much joy with his playful and curious nature. He is two years old but is still very energetic and mischievous! Brady was brought to us by a couple who live nearby and noticed he was fending for himself outside. They felt sorry for him since he always seemed hungry, and they worried for his safety. They also knew their apartment manager wouldn’t let them bring him inside. We found out Brady was chipped but his owner was also unable to care for him as an indoor cat so she put him outside. Brady is not street-wise. He truly needs people and thrives on attention which is why he probably sought out the sympathetic couple. Unfortunately, when we had Brady tested, he was positive for FIV. His story didn’t end there. He was one of the lucky ones who landed in a shelter that can accommodate FIV cats. Brady has a few playmates here who match his energy and keep things interesting for the volunteers who are working in our lobby. For anyone looking to adopt a pair, Brady’s friend Winston would be an excellent choice. After spending the night at the shelter during the January blizzard, I can personally assure you that Brady is an excellent little snuggler and biscuit maker! He kept me cozy and warm! Please consider making an appointment to meet Brady and his friends! Negative for FeLV *Must be 21 or older to adopt **Our shelter has a policy to only adopt within a 50 mile radius so that if problems arise, the pet can easily be returned to the shelter.

HEARTT Animal Refuge's Adoption Policy

All adoptions are by appointment only. We have two locations, Sharonville and Bridgetown, so please clarify who you would like to meet so we can set up the appointment at the correct location. Our adoption fee for both dogs and cats is $100 per animal. We have a policy to only adopt to individuals age 21 or older. Additionally, we only adopt within a 50 mile radius so that if problems arise, the pet can easily be returned to the shelter. All animals are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption. We also give flea and dewormer treatments. Dogs are tested for Heartworm and cats are quarantined for 8 weeks prior to FIV/FeLV testing. Consider a "Senior" pet.....they really need love and a home to call their own in their senior years. We have a few beautiful kittens and many adult cats that are looking for you.
