Boxie's Story
Boxie came to Kindred Spirits Rescue when he was found at only a few days old. He was found between shipping containers in downtown Little Falls with no cat family around. When his family didn't return for him, his finder contacted KSR. We began bottle feeding him and helping him grow big and strong!

From the moment Boxie developed consciousness, he realized he loves people with his whole heart. He is vocal but doesn't typically meow. He does happy trills when he enters a room and sees a person or animal he's happy about. When his foster has visitors, Boxie is usually the first to greet them. He'll wrap his delicate little tail around their legs and meow at them as if he wants to be picked up. If he is picked up, he'll cuddle and purr and investigate the new person. Once he's had his fill, he's ready to go race around the house again. Boxie is quite active and sometimes speeds so fast he drifts around corners or smacks into walls. He's been known to climb curtains from time to time. He can't help himself, he loves to explore so much and sees the world as his oyster! He isn't destructive, thankfully. Just curious and agile. And maybe a tad bit nosey. He's been well socialized and exposed to a variety of sights, sounds, textures, and car rides. Not much shakes this guy, he's pretty steady on his feet, confident, and self-assured.

His foster has 3 adult cats that Boxie lives among. Boxie can sometimes be a bit much for the adult cats and occasionally requires reminders that he can't endlessly bully the other cats into playing with him. He's easily redirected to more appropriate activities. He's respectful of the adult cats if they give him clear communication asking him to stop. He likes to play with the dog's tails when they wag, he just can't resist the temptation! He takes correction from dogs well and understands that sometimes dogs need space. He's had excellent litter box habits from the start. He used to sleep outside of his foster's bedroom with the other cats. Once he realized that sleeping in the bedroom with his foster was an option, that's where he wants to be. He usually sleeps with his paws pressed against his foster or curled up right next to her. He does fairly well and only sometimes attacks feet under the sheets. He seems to understand that if he continues past a "Boxie, no thank you", he will lose his bedroom privileges. He is still learning that house plants are not toys.

Kindred Spirits Rescue is a foster-based rescue, meaning we do not have a central facility.
