***Sharonville Location *** If you’re shopping in the Big & Tall department, this oversized champion of head-butts will likely win your heart. Bowie is such a great boy and checks all the boxes. He is affectionate yet gentle, curious but calm, agreeable and yet independent. His favorite thing is a tail scritch and a head-butt from the volunteers who clean his room. Bowie immediately adapted to his free-range feline roommates with no drama. He would prefer a stable, drama-free household to lord over as well. (Not a fan of young children, apparently.) In return, you will get 19 lbs of loyalty to follow you around the house and keep you company; almost like having a dog but without the barking and chewing up your shoes! Consider making an appointment to see if Bowie would be the right fit for your family! FIV/FeLV negative. *Must be 21 or older to adopt * Our shelter has a policy to only adopt within a 50 mile radius so that if problems arise, the pet can easily be returned to the shelter.

HEARTT Animal Refuge's Adoption Policy

All adoptions are by appointment only. We have two locations, Sharonville and Bridgetown, so please clarify who you would like to meet so we can set up the appointment at the correct location. Our adoption fee for both dogs and cats is $100 per animal. We have a policy to only adopt to individuals age 21 or older. Additionally, we only adopt within a 50 mile radius so that if problems arise, the pet can easily be returned to the shelter. All animals are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption. We also give flea and dewormer treatments. Dogs are tested for Heartworm and cats are quarantined for 8 weeks prior to FIV/FeLV testing. Consider a "Senior" pet.....they really need love and a home to call their own in their senior years. We have a few beautiful kittens and many adult cats that are looking for you. Our Mission

HEARTT Animal Refuge was founded in 2007 by Sylvia Johanning, who had a passion for rescue since she was a child. She had worked in several shelters and decided she wanted to make a difference in Sharonville.
