Boots (in foster)'s Story
Boots<br/>Oh, hello there. Thank you for taking the time to read my interview. I am 6-years-old, a typical orange and white Tabby fellow tipping the scales at 19 pounds. I know, my foster mom (FM) calls me a chonky boy! When I say "typical," I mean handsome, intelligent, kind-hearted, and charming. At least, that is how many people describe orange cats. I had lived with my owner for five years before she surrendered me to the HSHC. She could not afford the cost of my medical treatments. I am diabetic and must eat Fancy Feasts Classics (which are reasonably priced) and take insulin shots. I lived with my family, other cats, and kids for five years. Cats, I can get along with just fine. However, I have always been shy and easily startled by children, loud noises, sudden movements, and big changes in the environment. I will run off and hide in situations like these. Little kids make too much noise for me, and they create chaos! I am currently living in a foster home with a lovely lady who is well-versed in caring for shy kitties. My FM feels that I still need a quiet home without small kids. However, I recently was able to stop taking medication for anxiety! Yay!! I am much happier now and improving my courage. When I feel comfortable, I love being held and cuddled. I have enjoyed sleeping with people at night. When I feel secure, I allow myself to be brushed and have my nails trimmed without issue. If you agree to give me plenty of time to get settled in your home, have no scary little kids, and will build a healthy trust between us, I would love to join your family. 2-17-26
