What is So Many Whiskers, Inc.’s adoption process?

Thank you for your interest in adopting from So Many Whiskers, Inc.! Adoption is a rewarding and life-changing event for you AND your new pet! The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application located below. Please take a moment to read our adoption policies below. If you have any questions, email adoptsmw@gmail.com before applying. You must be 18 years of age to adopt. Adoption applications may take between 3-5 business days to process. We do not offer same day adoptions. The process consists of filling out an adoption application, and verifying the application information. There will be a home visit for dog adoptions. There may be a home visit for cat adoptions. We only accept applications from within the following area(s): Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and South-East Pennsylvania. All adoptions must be finalized in Maryland. We do not ship our animals. All of our cats and kittens are fostered in homes, and are available to meet by appointment only or at our local adoption events. So Many Whiskers, Inc. reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone for any reason. What the adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter, testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia, age appropriate vaccinations, flea preventative, deworming and other medications necessary. All adoption fees go towards providing food, and veterinary care for our animals. Adoption fees cover only a portion of the costs we incur caring for the animals at SMW.
