Boo Boo 's Story

Boo Boo is a sweet, special guy looking (with his one eye!) for that special home he knows is out there for him. Boo Boo spent most of his life as a feral in our own colony. He came indoors last year after developing chronic skin lesions. His condition is well controlled with steroids but continued outdoor living was no longer an option. He has successfully made the huge transition to an indoor life but, because of his background, Boo Boo is a very reserved kitty and will need a very slow, patient introduction to a new home. This is a likely months-long process, not something that will happen quickly, but he is soooo worth the effort. When Boo Boo feels safe, his sweet side comes out. He enjoys gentle pets and chin scratches, plays softly with toys, and is very food-motivated (he will do just about anything for a churu!). LOL. He has gorgeous glossy long black fur and classic one-eye pirate cat looks so he is pretty special looking too! (He had to have an eye removed years ago because of an eye infection which caused glaucoma). He has been tested for FIV/FeLV/heartworm and is negative.
.
Boo Boo needs a calm, quiet home with someone who understands formerly-feral cats and is willing to let him set the pace completely; pushing him too far too quickly will only set him back. We are looking for someone steady, patient, and kind who’s okay with taking things one day at a time and letting him learn what it means to feel safe indoors. We want him to continue his journey in trust with a quiet home of his own. And don't be concerned about making an adoption decision without spending plenty of time with him. Boo Boo is in our "foster-to-adopt" program: you have him home with you and there's no particular deadline on your adoption decision. So you can take the time you need without any pressure. We think he's a wonderful guy and are looking for that special adopter who will allow him time to blossom.

Estimated DOB: 7/31/16
