Bonk's Story

Are you searching for a cat whose quiet purrs will melt your heart? Yes?! Well, then, Bonk is the sweet cat for you. This gentle boy is searching for a cozy space with plenty of soft spots where he can knead biscuits and lean into petting to his heart's content. Bonk will offer you endless rewards by making nearly silent meows to shower you with his gratitude for attention. This gentle boy spends most of his day lounging like a loaf and demonstrating his appreciation for mealtime.

Currently, Bonk lives with other cats and dogs. He prefers and would like to live either on his own or with very mild-mannered roommates who give him lots of space. Since he's neutered, his FIV+ status has not been an issue for other compatible cats after a slow introduction (see below for more information on FIV). He happily co-exists with the more relaxed dog in in his foster home; the other bouncier one, he could do without. Bonk's ideal home would be with adults and older children, and we could see him loving a pet friend to watch.

Prior to being brought to PAWS, Bonk seemed to live a hard-knock life on the streets. You would never guess about his checkered past based on his mild-mannered, loving personality, though!

Bonk has some ongoing medical issues that are important to note. In addition to FIV, he has kidney disease and a mass on his liver. Despite treatment, we're unsure of the cause of said mass, though it does not seem to be impacting his quality of life at this time!

Bonk is on a special diet and has shown improvement in his overall health and weight gain. At this time, he is not on any other meds. Bonk needs an understanding family who will love him as much as he will love them. This boy has lots of love and purrs to give and is ready for his fur-ever home!

------------------------------------

This pet is a part of our Hospice Program and is looking for a special family who will diligently monitor and provide care for their quality of life and overall comfort for whatever time they have left. They are ready to be spoiled with all the love you have to offer! Our staff will be happy to tell you more about our Hospice program.

------------------------------------

This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Please email their foster parent at ann.heidelberg@yahoo.com to learn more about them! In order to meet with any cats in foster care, you will need to have a fully processed and approved application first. To get the adoption process started, please submit an adoption application online at phillypaws.org/catapp.

If you have any questions for our adoption team, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-238-9901 ext.30.
