Bob's Story

Good day. My name is Bob.

I am a mature gentleman of refined tastes, impeccable manners, and very strong opinions regarding meal schedules.

I have been told that I need to tell you about myself, so here goes.

A few years ago, life handed me some challenges. I battled severe stomatitis, lost nearly all of my teeth, and was diagnosed with diabetes. Thankfully, thanks to excellent veterinary care and a healthy diet, my diabetes is now in remission.

That’s right.

I beat it.

These days, I simply need to stay on my healthy diet and take a small amount of medication with breakfast and dinner. My automatic refrigerated feeder will come with me, because a gentleman should never have to wonder where his next meal is coming from.

Now, while I may technically qualify as a senior citizen, I would like to formally object to any assumptions that I spend my days sleeping in a recliner.

I am still playful.

I still enjoy toys.

I still get the occasional burst of energy that reminds everyone I haven’t retired from fun just yet.

I’m also incredibly social and enjoy being around my people. If you’re sitting down, there’s a good chance I’ll want to know what you’re doing. If you’re walking around the house, I’ll probably supervise. It is important that someone maintains quality control.

I currently share my home with a dog named Monster, and we’ve come to an understanding. He does his thing, I do mine, and occasionally we hang out together. Because of that, I may do well with the right calm, cat-friendly dog, but proper introductions would be important.

I have a wonderful sense of humor, a big personality, and enough charm to convince most humans that sharing a little extra snack is a perfectly reasonable idea.

What I’m looking for is a family who appreciates all the wonderful things that come with an older cat. I don’t need to climb your curtains or bounce off the ceiling to keep you entertained. I can do that simply by being Bob.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a professional supervisor, an occasional comedian, and a distinguished gentleman who still has plenty of life left to live, then I may be exactly the cat you’re looking for.

Respectfully,

Bob

P.S. I only have a couple of teeth left, but I assure you I still know how to use them on treats.
