Blossom is not just another cat looking for a home. She is a survivor, a protector and one of the most devoted mothers we have ever met.<br/><br/>This young orange tabby has already beaten the odds. Only about 20% of orange cats are female, making Blossom a rare little gem from the very start. But what truly makes her extraordinary is the love she showed for her baby when everything around her was against them.<br/><br/>On a day with 40+ mph winds, Blossom was seen desperately trying to carry her newborn kitten, Bud, across a busy city street. She was exhausted, frightened and clearly had given birth only shortly before. As cars rushed past without slowing down, poor little Bud slipped from her mouth and landed helplessly in the road. But Blossom refused to abandon him.<br/><br/>With traffic flying around them, this brave young mother laid her own body over her baby, shielding him from danger the only way she could. She stayed there, vulnerable and terrified, determined to protect her kitten no matter the cost.<br/><br/>Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stepped in and brought them both to safety before tragedy could strike. Bud has since found his forever home. Now it is Blossom's turn.<br/><br/>Blossom is all heart. She's nurturing, resilient, protective, and endlessly loving despite everything she has endured. After surviving life on the streets and risking everything for her baby, she deserves a home where she will never have to be afraid or struggle again.<br/><br/>We are searching for a very special family for this remarkable girl. We are seeking someone who will cherish her, spoil her and let her finally rest easy knowing she is safe and loved. Spend some time together in one of our get-acquainted rooms and see if she tugs at your heartstrings the way she already has ours.<br/><br/>The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times.
