Ginger cat lovers and cat lovers of all kinds, meet Biscuit! Over the the course of a week, residents of a Houston block banded together to report on sightings of this unhoused baby, and one champion homeowner finally brought him into safety on July 11, 2026. Far from feral, this little guy wants nothing more than human touch and affection.<br/><br/>Based on dental development, Biscuit was determined to be four months old during his first vet visit on July 15. He has been microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLV (negative for both), and received his first of two booster shots. In three weeks, he will return for his second booster, the rabies vaccine, and neuter.<br/><br/>In our opinion, everyone needs a little Biscuit on their daily menu! The American Street Cat, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
We engage in e-mail or phone correspondence and review an adoption application prior to arranging any meetings. Applications can be requested via e-mail. A standard adoption fee applies to ALL of our rescues, and an adoption contract must be agreed to and signed.  A meeting with your potential pet in its foster home is required. An approved application and a scheduled meeting does not guarantee an adoption. A home check is required before final placement. We are not a shelter with operating hours, but rather individuals with day jobs fostering in our own homes with our own resident cats.  Meetings are arranged by e-mail appointment only.  See the "Adopting a Friend" section for more information. NOTE: If you have found or trapped cats, or need to relinquish your own, please contact stationary shelters in your area.  We do not handle public intakes.
