Birdo's Story

Birdo may not be a pink dinosaur who shoots eggs from her mouth, but she's the boss, we mean mama, of our Mario kittens. They've all found their homes, and now it's this tortie gal's turn. Birdo is basically still a kitten herself, as she's super small and young; we estimate a year or less. Now that she's spayed, she can just focus on being someone's baby! <br/><br/>Birdo doesn't live up to the tortitude stereotype, as she's been nothing but a loving social butterfly, first in foster care with her babies and now here. Maybe the goodnatured 'tude everyone loves will come later once she's comfy in a new home! Her favorite things are getting attention from people, finding cozy places to nap, and looking irresistibly adorable. Birdo is good with her cat roommates and would likely be just fine with nice dogs and kids with proper introductions. Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process: 1) Fill out an application on our website at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt. Please note that submitting an inquiry through PetFinder or other online listing does not constitute an adoption application. Applications can also be downloaded as a pdf and emailed to secondchanceas@yahoo.com or filled out at the sanctuary any time we're open. 2) We will process your application by calling your veterinarian and personal references. How long this takes depends on how quickly we can reach them. You can help expedite this process by letting them know we'll be calling from the number 570-376-3646. We may also call you to ask additional questions or to share pertinent information about the animal you've applied for. 3) We will inform you of your application's status, usually in a few days to a week. Even if the animal you hoped to adopt goes to another home, you still may be approved to adopt another animal. We attempt to match animals to homes that best fit their personality/needs and vice versa. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
