Birdie's Story
“Hello, my name is Birdie. I was rescued by a good Samaritan when they found me in the road after being struck by a car. My caretakers have spent a lot of time getting me feeling better, and I’m now on the mend. I’m still very nervous, and shy around people. I’m sorry I can’t help it, but I’m trying to learn how to trust the people around me, and I think when I get to know someone I’m going to really like being around them.”
When Birdie first came to us, she was in rough shape. After testing, and imaging it doesn’t seem that she has any major trauma to her from her run in with a car, but she may have some permanent scarring above her left eye. It took her quite a while to start eating for us, but now she is a ravenous baby, eating almost all of her meal as soon as it’s placed in front of her. Birdie is very shy right now, and due to her history, we can’t really blame her. She’s starting to come around to her regular handlers, but is still very easily startled especially by sudden movements, and loud noises. She will need a forever home that is patient, and understanding preferably with minimal disruptions that is not very active. We hope soon she will find her forever person. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, or to set up a meet-and-greet.

“Thank you for taking the time to check my page”-Birdie.

***Please note that descriptions are based on caretakers’ observation of pets in our facility.
