Birdie's Story

For inquiries contact jean@staf.org. Information and application are at www.staf.org.
Birdie is a precious brown-and-white spotted beauty whose personality is just as bright as her sparkling eyes. True to her name, this sweet girl will fly right into your heart from the moment you meet her.
She was brought to us by a kind Samaritan who had been caring for her as a stray but was unable to keep her after a veterinary visit revealed that Birdie is feline leukemia (FeLV) positive. Because FeLV can be spread through shared food and water bowls, grooming, or shared litter boxes, it’s not recommended for FeLV-positive cats to live with cats who are negative. Shortly after she came to us as a kitten, she was taken into a loving foster home for a wonderful start during her protocols. It was there where she honed her kitten skills, showing off with toys, zooming, and cozy spots to cuddle.
Now in her beautiful room at the shelter with other FeLV residents, Birdie gets along wonderfully with her roommates, so she could happily be adopted along with another compatible pal, or she could thrive as a cherished one-and-only companion. While Birdie may need a watchful eye on her health and potentially some additional veterinary check-ups to keep her feeling her best (your Adoption Coordinator will happily explain more), the reward is immeasurable.
This darling girl gives back nothing but love and devotion, earning her name thanks to the adorable little chirps she makes when she’s feeling happy; those sweet sounds are sure to make you smile every day. With her affectionate nature and joyful spirit, Birdie continues to soar with happiness, just like a lovely songbird!
DOB: 4/2025
Cat adoption information and application can be found at www.staf.org.
All cats and kittens have been vet-checked, spayed/neutered, and are up-to-date on vaccinations. Adoption fee includes carrier, scratching pad, starter pack of food and litter, and toy. We prefer kittens be adopted in pairs. We offer free advice anytime about your adopted cat. If, for any reason, it doesn't work out, we will take the cat back, anytime in the future. Potential adopters must be interviewed in person, at the shelter, and live within 150 miles of Cincinnati. We will ask you to return to the shelter for a second visit to be sure of your decision. Sorry, we do not ship our cats or kittens! Please email Jean at jean@staf.org for more info. on adopting!
