Birdie's Story

Birdie is a beautiful long-haired tabby with big feelings, excellent boundaries, and a surprisingly soft center.

She’s currently rocking a lion cut to give her coat (and tummy) a break from over-grooming and hairballs. She’s completely unbothered by the haircut (confidence is key). When her full coat grows back, she’ll need brushing several times a week to prevent mats and reduce hairballs. Hairball gel and treats are helpful additions to her routine.

Birdie is shy at first and needs time to feel safe. She may greet new situations with a dramatic hiss, but it’s all talk, she does not bite or swat. She simply has strong opinions and communicates them clearly.

She isn’t a fan of being grabbed or having hands in her space before trust is established. However, once you earn her confidence (food is an excellent strategy), she absolutely melts for a good chin and ear scritch. She has yet to meet a food or treat she wasn’t a fan of!

She enjoys catnip toys and self-play toys, especially electronic ones, and does well with other cats, though she prefers to be the boss lady of the household.

Birdie recently received a clean bill of health and has pristine teeth. At the vet, she tends to freeze and quietly allow handling, which makes appointments surprisingly smooth.

Ideal Home:
* Calm, patient adopter
* Cat-savvy and respectful of boundaries
* Willing to dedicate time to grooming
* Fine as a solo cat or with other respectful cats

Birdie doesn’t give her heart away quickly, but once she does, it’s special. She’s looking for someone who understands that trust is earned and love is worth the wait.

If you’re ready to let a shy, gorgeous queen rule your home, Birdie is waiting!
Please reach out to: ashleyjphillipps@gmail.com
