Binx's Story

Black as night and sweet as sugar! Binx is on the shyer side, but boy, does this girl love to be loved. She's still getting acclimated being free in a colony room, but while in her intake kennel, she turned to mush the second you offer a hand to nuzzle. She'd even hop up to meet your hand in the air! It's as if she needs to make sure her scent gets on every inch of you she can reach, because that's how cats mark you as a member of their family. Binx truly will be a best friend and biscuit-making snuggle bug if she's given the time and patience she needs to come out of her shell in a home.

Binx is about 3 years old and came to us because other cats were picking on her in her home. This poor sweetheart is just so demure, docile and submissive, we could see how that could happen. She's been getting along well here, though! She's mostly kept to herself, but seemed to make friends with one of her more outgoing kitty roomies. She'd do best with other non-dominant cats, and while she hadn't lived with dogs, she may be fine with chill ones. Does anyone have a soft, relaxing place for this precious angel baby to land? Binx is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

*** Apply to adopt your new best friend on our website (link in our Facebook page bio) or at the sanctuary any time we're open. Call 570-376-3646 or email secondchanceas@yahoo.com with any questions.
PA kennel license #04944

Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process: 1) Fill out an application on our website at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt. Please note that submitting an inquiry through PetFinder or other online listing does not constitute an adoption application. Applications can also be downloaded as a pdf and emailed to secondchanceas@yahoo.com or filled out at the sanctuary any time we're open. 2) We will process your application by calling your veterinarian and personal references. How long this takes depends on how quickly we can reach them. You can help expedite this process by letting them know we'll be calling from the number 570-376-3646. We may also call you to ask additional questions or to share pertinent information about the animal you've applied for. 3) We will inform you of your application's status, usually in a few days to a week. Even if the animal you hoped to adopt goes to another home, you still may be approved to adopt another animal. We attempt to match animals to homes that best fit their personality/needs and vice versa. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
