Bin Chicken's Story

News from The Transfer Station: Bin Chicken sighting! Don't miss this opportunity, when else will you get a chance to have a Bin Chicken in this country?!

Meet little Bin Chicken, the smallest of the Waste Management litter. She arrived at The Transfer Station (AKA, her foster home!) with her sisters and mother after Mama Waste Not had been abandoned and had her litter in a dumpster. Fortunately the family was found! Now at The Transfer Station, little Bin Chicken is starting to feel comfortable, after all, this is a natural environment for her.

She is named after an Australian bird who got the nickname "bin chicken" for its habit of rummaging around garbage in urban areas. Our little Bin Chicken is getting over her bashful feelings and starting to scavenge around The Transfer Station. When she sees the wand toy, or a spring toy thrown, she feels brave and runs & pounces! And when you get her purring - you will be surprised how loud a purr such a little one can make. Bin Chicken is an exquisite anomaly in her family, the only tabby! She is petite, with about a million bold stripes, absolutely stunning.

Bin Chicken is looking for a forever family to rummage around with, she's good with older, respectful children and needs another young, playful cat... perhaps a sibling or her mother!

As a general rule, we recommend that young kittens only go in pairs or to households that already have another pet. Young kittens on their own, no matter how much attention they get from humans, usually get bored and tend to be more destructive. They need another animal to help socialize them (to learn how to appropriately wrestle, boundaries, etc). Most times having another cat is the best, though some may be okay with a gentle dog.

You can see more pictures and videos of our fosters on our facebook page: Sophia L'Orange Kitten Rescue

All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV, before they are adopted. They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet.

Sophia L'Orange Kitten Rescue's Adoption Policy
The Foster Home Advantage: Because we are a 100% foster-based rescue, the kittens haven’t spent their youth stressed out in a shelter cage. We do not foster in cages. They are "home-tested!" So we already know their personalities, whether they love human company, respects a home routine, and spend a lot of time to make sure we are describing each carefully so that you know the type of kitty for which you are applying. Adoption Details: We work towards making the purrfect match for each kitty and each home. Because we prioritize their lifelong safety, our adoption process requires a live virtual safety walkthrough after our verifications and vet references. If you are an open-book adopter ready to welcome these precious kittens into your heart, apply to adopt today!
