BILLY's Story

MEET BILLY! With his big tomcat head, weathered coat, wonky ears, and old scars, Billy looks like he has lived a thousand hard days - and he has. Billy arrived at our shelter injured and worn down from life on the streets, carrying the quiet evidence of everything he had survived. We don't know much about what he endured, but his previous injuries indicated that it wasn't easy living as a stray. When you first meet him, he hesitates and flinches. But if you are patient, sit quietly with him, and give him a moment, you will see who Billy really is. He is a gentle 9 year old boy who leans into your hand. He is a quiet and misunderstood guy who closes his eyes with comfort when you scratch his head. He is a kitty who truly wants love, but is learning it for the first time. Billy isn't asking for much. he doesn't want chaos, noise, or to be picked up and moved around. He just wants a calm, quiet adult home where he can exist peacefully. Billy is FIV positive, so he would need to be an indoor only cat - and trust us, he would prefer it that way! Now that he knows the safety, comfort, and warmth of indoor living, Billy has no need for the chaotic life he once lived. Since he has very few remaining teeth, he is a wet food connoisseur. Billy goes from an unassuming, laid back kitty to an excited and curious guy when food is involved! Though Billy looks tough, he is anything but. He is careful, but hopeful that there is a place in the world for a kitty that just needs (and deserves) a soft place to land. A place to spend his golden years in peace, with gentle hands and quiet love. Billy is up to date on vaccines, neutered, current on prevention, and microchipped. Complete an adoption survey at https://cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey. All Adoptions require a Pre-Adoption Interview with a YCAS Adoption Counselor, a meet and greet, and adoption approval. Every adoptable cat is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. The adoption fee is $77.
