Biggie! Outgoing Boy!'s Story

*Please Note: Biggie has test positive for FIV. which is a virus that can weaken a cat's immune system. FIV-positive cats can live long, normal lives with proper care, which includes regular veterinary check-ups and managing any infections. FIV is not contagious to humans or dogs. It can only be spread to other cats through deep bite wounds. Biggie contracted this after being bitten by another cat when he was dumped outside, left to fend for himself. Now that Biggie has been neutered, he has shown to be fine with other cats.*

Meet our very outgoing and vocal boy named Biggie! Biggie is about 2 years old, and he came to our shelter after he was found outside with a large injury on his face. Biggie was immediately very friendly to all of us and our vet staff, even for getting is face cleaned the first day. Biggie ended up with a large abscess on his face that had ruptured. This was likely due to getting in a fight with another intact male cat while outside because male cats who aren't neutered will fight for food, territory, and mates. It has taken about 2 months, but with a surgical procedure, antibiotics, and manuka honey, he has finally healed up and is ready to find his forever home! He does still have a large hairless spot on his face where his wound was. We don't know if he will ever grow fur back in that area. Biggie is a social guy who loves to rub up on you and jump up on your lap while you're sitting on the couch. He is playful, active, and he loves catnip.
Biggie is SUPER food motivated and is very trainable with treats. He is a great eater and he is not picky with any food. You will need to keep any cat food bags away from him as he gets bored/curious when he is alone for long periods of time and will rip them open for a snack. Biggie has no problem with people being around his food and we can pull his bowl right away from him when he is eating. Biggie is social with other cats and he is tolerant of dogs who give him his space. Biggie is a super friendly and social boy who would love a family to call his own! He can go to a home with children 10 years old and older.

If you are interested in adopting Biggie, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application!
