Big Q & Q Tea's Story
Big Q and Q Tea were found at – where else? – at QuikTrip. They and a litter of younger kittens were running around the parking lot, scrounging for food, and dodging cars. Because the QuikTrip was located on a busy highway, the Good Samaritan who found them brought all the kittens into her home and reached out to our shelter. We accepted the younger kittens immediately. Big Q and Q Tea were on the feral side, but performing TNR and returning to the busy QuikTrip site would have been a death sentence for them. So the rescuer kept them a while longer to socialize before she brought them to us.

We continued the socialization process, and they have both come SO far from their scary beginnings. Big Q now enjoys pets and even reciprocates by touching volunteers’ arms, bumping noses, rubbing against them, and even giving the occasional kiss. Q Tea is a bit more reserved and shyer than her brother, but once she trusts you, she loves to be brushed. She is also very motivated by food and toys, especially string toys.

Q Tea lives up to her name and is quite the “cutie.” Actually, beautiful is a better way to describe this girl with her stunning black, medium-length fur. Big Q is also quite the looker and sports the distinctive look of a polydactyl (extra toes on both front paws). His extra paws even have an extra nail, making him even more unique!

The family who adopts these two beauties will need to be patient with both and allow them to go at their own pace in terms of integration into the home. They will require an environment on the quieter side with no small children or dogs. They would likely be ok with other cats with a slow introduction. Their “likes” include being high on a cat tree and birdwatching out a window.

Many people have put much time and effort into preparing these two for life in a forever home as opposed to life on the streets. If you open up your home and continue the process with understanding and love, you will soon be able to “drink up” the rewards of having two beautiful and loyal companions, as well as reward them for all their hard work in becoming good kitties.

DOB 8/13/2025

If you're interested in Big Q & Q Tea, we ask that you please fill out a "pre-adopt application" that can be found on our website: https://www.parkvilleshelter.com/adoption-application.
