Big Boy's Story

** COURTESY- CROSS POST**
BIG BOY IS LOOKING FOR HIS PERSON

Sometimes the very best cats are the ones who have been through the most.
Meet Big Boy, a handsome 7-8 year old grey and white gentleman with a giant heart and an even bigger capacity for love.

Big Boy started life as a neighborhood stray. For over a year, he only trusted one person enough to come close. But once he finally learned that people could be kind, everything changed. Today, he absolutely adores human companionship and wants nothing more than to be near his favorite people.
His caretaker took him in after he became critically ill in 2024. He was nursed back to health over several months and has blossomed into one of the sweetest cats you could ever hope to meet.

What makes Big Boy special?
• Loves people and thrives on human companionship
• Gives headbutts and asks for more scratches when you stop
• A champion cuddler who prefers to be touching his person whenever possible
• Loves forehead kisses
• Carries his favorite toy around proudly and wants everyone to admire his “catch”
• Will meow to find you and gets more excited as he gets closer
• Becomes the star of every gathering because he genuinely enjoys being around people
• Loves lounging in sunny spots and showing off his impressive belly
• Has the sweetest little snore when he falls into a deep sleep

Big Boy has spent the last two years living in a unique household arrangement because he does not get along with the resident cat. While every effort was made to integrate them, he would be happiest as the only cat in the home, where he can soak up all the attention for himself.

Medical Information
Big Boy has a history of chronic upper respiratory issues (chronic rhinitis/sinusitis). His symptoms primarily involve nasal congestion and occasional flare-ups that have responded to veterinary treatment. Despite this, he remains happy, active, affectionate, maintains his weight, enjoys his food, and continues to live a full and joyful life.
His caretaker has worked closely with veterinarians to manage his condition and is committed to being completely transparent with any potential adopter regarding his medical history and ongoing needs.

Why He Needs a Home
This is not a cat being given up because he is unwanted.
His caretaker loves him deeply and has spent nearly two years helping him heal, learn to trust, and experience life as a beloved companion. Unfortunately, an upcoming move means they can no longer provide the housing arrangement that has allowed Big Boy to thrive.
The hope is to find someone who will give him what every cat deserves: a safe home, a soft bed, plenty of love, and a family to call his own.

Ideal Home:
• Indoor-only home
• Big Boy would like to be the only cat in the household (FIV+)
• Someone who appreciates affectionate, people-oriented cats
• A family willing to love a cat who may require occasional management of his respiratory condition.

Big Boy has already survived the hard part of life. Now he just needs someone willing to write the happy ending.

Please email: laurenmp37@gmail.com if you'd like to learn more about Big Boy or think you might be the person he's been waiting for.
