Betty Boop's Story

Last spring, Betty arrived at the county shelter in heartbreaking condition—sick, emaciated, and placed on the euthanasia list due to her failing health. But her spirit told a different story. Despite her condition, she was cuddly, gentle, and irresistibly sweet. The shelter staff fell in love and knew she deserved a fighting chance. That’s when they reached out to us, and Betty began her road to recovery at Desert Catopia.

With care, love, and good food, Betty blossomed. She quickly became our favorite foster—not just because she’s affectionate, but because she had a special gift with other cats. She was so nurturing and calm with the little ones that we joked she should be on our payroll as a “Kitten Mom.” She helped raise a few kittens and showed them how to be a good cat.

Betty was eventually adopted by a kind woman who adored her, but sadly, life circumstances changed. Betty is now living in a home with someone who is severely allergic, and as much as it breaks everyone’s hearts, it’s time to find her the forever home she truly deserves.

This girl is a gem. She’ll melt into your arms and cover you in kisses. She’s great with other cats, makes fast friends, and even teaches kittens how to cat. She proudly shows off her adorable round belly, adores her scratchers, and loves being doted on. Betty is more than a pet—she’s a companion, a mentor to kittens, and a professional snuggler.

Betty Boop is looking for a family who will never let her go again. If you’re looking for the best cat ever—a cat with a heart as big as her eyes—you’ve just found her.
