Betty's Story

Betty is a sweet Golden Girl ready to spend her golden years living her very best life after being abandoned by her owner. Found alongside another cat named Amos, Betty has shown very mixed and strong reactions around other cats and even signs of other felines, so she is likely very cat selective and may do best as the Queen Bee of her own castle. While she could potentially learn to tolerate a feline companion with plenty of time and patience, being the center of attention in a loving home may truly be where she shines. Betty loves to lounge, explore at her own pace, soak up affection, and even enjoys a little catnip fun. She's a strong, independent, and lovable lady just waiting for someone to give her the happy retirement she deserves!

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control's Adoption Policy

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control does require an adoption application to be completed prior to adoption. The information includes your name, address, phone number, and email. Please return application in person. No online adoptions. All current dogs/cats must be sterilized and current on rabies to adopt from our shelter. Anyone can adopt from the shelter, not just Henderson residents. The shelter does reserve the right to deny an adoption if the potential adopter fails to meet standards. Adoption fees. Cats/kittens are adopted for $80 each. Dogs/puppies are adopted for $90 each. Ferrets are adopted for $70 each. Bunnies are adopted for $35 each. These fees include the routine vaccines, spay or neuter surgery if not already done, microchip ID and registration, and a rabies tag or Henderson License (depending on where you live).
