Bernie's Story

Bernie is the BEST!

He recently came to Heartland so that he could retire from street life. He was found outside by our Executive Director, Jenny, when she was helping TNR a big group of cats in the Lawndale are of Chicago. This guy is so mellow and chill and he would love nothing more than to be able to hang out and watch movies with the lucky person or family who decides to adopt him! Bernie has a great appetitite and he loves and appreciates his wet food meals.

Bernie is neutered, up-to-date on his FVRCP and Rabies vaccines and he is FeLV negative.

He is FIV positive. This just means that there are some extra steps to keeping him healthy. FIV can weaken the cat's immune system. While FIV-positive cats can enjoy long, healthy lives, they can be hit harder by secondary infections.
