Benny's Story

Meet Benny, a handsome, soulful 5-year-old grey cat who has clearly lived a dozen lifetimes.

When he was found outside, he carried the physical scars of a tough life on the streets, but those scars don't tell the whole story. Beneath that rugged exterior is a gentle, resilient boy who is waiting to experience the safety of a real home.

Benny is FIV+. It’s important for adopters to know that FIV-positive and FIV-negative cats can happily live together. FIV is transmitted only through deep bite wounds—not through grooming, sharing bowls, or normal play—so in a stable, friendly home, there is minimal risk to other cats. FIV+ cats live long, full, happy lives, with a normal life span, and Benny is no exception.

He has been through so much, and you can see a touch of sadness in his eyes—until the treats come out! He absolutely lights up for his favorite snack: Churus. It’s a wonderful moment to see this resilient guy perk up and remember that life can be sweet.

He is now fully vetted—neutered and up-to-date on all his shots—and is ready for the next chapter of his life. Benny is looking for a patient, loving human who understands that a cat like him needs time to realize he is finally safe. In return, he’ll give you a kind, gentle presence and a heart full of gratitude. Please give Benny that chance!

Interested in adopting Benny? Our policy is to adopt kittens in pairs. We find that kittens are much happier when they have a companion and they tend to expend their youthful energy on each other rather than on your couch! Kittens are adorable, but older cats can be wonderful pets as well and they tend to be overlooked, so please consider adopting an adult cat or two!

The Cat Connection is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization of volunteers who rescue homeless cats.
